Sports Medicine Exam
We value a thorough orthopedic and neurological exam for every part of the body that has sustained trauma or is showing dysfunction. Using traditional orthopedic and neurological tests with Functional Movement Assessments and muscle testing, Dr. Massey is able to pinpoint where the problem is coming from and how to treat it.

Chiropractic Adjustments
Dr. Massey uses a variety of chiropractic techniques to find the best way to adjust your unique body. She is trained in Diversified manual adjusting, Advanced Activator Protocol, Logan Basic, Webster, and Cranial Sacral. The chiropractic adjustment is an important treatment used to improve healing by stimulating specific nerves and remove neurological blockages/interference to the body.

Myofascial Release
Fascia is the tissue that covers all the structures in your body. It can be damaged when traumatic injuries, surgeries, or chronic postural distortions occur. Dr. Massey uses the following myofascial release techniques: Graston, FAKTR, ART, FDM, PIR, and Cupping. It is important to incorporate myofascial treatments in cases that do not respond appropriately to standard medical care because fascia covers every muscle and nerve in the body and connects these structures together.

Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy is tailored to support acute inflammation and reduce pain by using a specific light wavelength frequency (830nm) to stimulate ATP production and regeneration at a cellular level.

Flexion Distraction Therapy
Flexion distraction is a decompression technique highly effective for treating low back pain, sciatica and symptoms from lumbar disc herniations. This utilizes a special table that slowly stretches the spine and stimulates the body to produce natural joint lubricant for the lumbar discs and facets. This area of the spine does not receive as much oxygenated blood if it is not moving adequately. By improving movement at a spinal level, it will help these tissues receive more nutrients from the blood and improve healing.

Nutrition
Using Applied Clinical Nutrition, Dr. Massey is able to help you tailor a nutritional plan to support your body and your health goals. Every body is unique and will benefit from a customized nutritional plan that includes dietary/lifestyle modifications and supplements to help the body heal more efficiently.

Therapeutic/Functional Exercises
Exercises for specific muscle groups are key components to help prevent injuries and make lasting, permanent corrections to the body’s nervous system and structure. Recommended home exercises are customized by Dr. Massey and included in every patient’s treatment plan.

A chiropractic adjustment for animals involves a gentle impulse applied by hand or with an activator. This impulse stimulates motor neurons. It resets the neurological communication from the brain to the tissues that hold the joint in alignment.
Done right, these adjustments put the joint into an optimal biomechanical position. This allows the nerve to fully communicate with the surrounding tissues. As a result, it reduces muscle spasms and pain. It will also improve range of motion, stability, muscular strength, and reflexes

Animals with the following conditions who receive chiropractic treatments can experience improvement.

Neck Pain
Neurological Conditions & Radiculopathies
Performance and Sporting/Show Animals
Congenital Abnormalities
Degenerative Arthritis
Muscular Imbalances
Spinal Disc Bulges
Luxating Patella
Sprains/Strains
Hip/Elbow Dysplasia

As an undergrad, Amanda studied Biomedical Science and Wildlife and Fishery Science at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Gig ‘em Aggies! She sustained a debilitating back injury while playing for the Aggie Polo Team and was unable to ride or do team workouts. Fortunately, she was able to find a local chiropractor with a shared love for horses who was able to treat her.

Within a few weeks of treatments, Amanda was back in the saddle and competing in the National Intercollegiate Tournament for Texas A&M. This experience, along with seeing the benefit of chiropractic care for her equine athletes, is what inspired her to become a chiropractor. While studying at Parker University in Dallas, Amanda gained valuable experience working with elite athletes at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center and the Texas Advantage Volleyball Club.

Her specialty is the prevention and treatment of injuries to extremities with chiropractic adjustments, fascial distortion models, and cold laser. Her love for horses led her to also seek additional certifications to treat animals. She also specializes in human performance optimization using food-based nutritional supplementation.

In Dr. Massey’s free time she is an avid equestrian, master’s swimmer, lake enthusiast, eater of eclectic foods, and a world traveler.
